Margush Hotel

Opened in 2004, the Margush is a small boutique hotel of just 28 rooms, its white-marble façade a recognisable landmark on the banks of the Murghab in the centre of Mary.

Named after the ancient Margush (Margiana) civilization, it offers a more intimate, quieter atmosphere than the larger city hotels, with an open-air pool, a fitness centre, a restaurant serving Turkmen and international dishes, a conference hall and Wi-Fi throughout. Staff are used to hosting foreign guests.

It is well placed for the UNESCO ruins of Merv, about thirty kilometres away, and within walking distance of the bazaars, parks and the regional museum.
